| | Greater Indiana Clean Cities, Inc. (Greater Indiana) is an independent, standalone nonprofit 501(c)3 organization serving the state of Indiana to support alternative fuels and alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs). Greater Indiana’s mission is to advance alternative, domestic-fueled transportation, including energy-efficient technologies, across all sectors in Indiana. We are overseen by our Board of Directors, comprised of 12 members representing the following industries: Biofuels, Municipalities, Utilities, Transportation Manufacturers, Fuel Suppliers, and Nonprofits. For 23 years, we have assisted public and private sector members, including cities, schools, utilities, fueling companies, government agencies, universities, and other nonprofit organizations, with alternative fuel projects. We provide positive support for the industry, our members, partners, and the state to increase the adoption of alternative fuel transportation, benefiting the local economy.
Greater Indiana has established and participated in working groups of EV stakeholders, such as charging suppliers, vehicle manufacturers, and consumer groups, to support electric vehicle charging infrastructure and vehicles. We have identified opportunities at the state level, connected with policymakers, encouraged and developed plans with grant proposals for charging infrastructure, created awareness through various outreach methods, and supported Indiana EV initiatives. Increased visibility through vehicle and fuel demonstration events organized by Greater Indiana or one of our partners has proven valuable to vehicle and fuel/technology providers, Greater Indiana, and consumers. Our team also provides fleet analysis and transition services to cities and other companies, which include recommendations and data calculations to assist with the transition to alternative fuels.
In addition, we continue to provide feedback and assistance to related efforts, such as the state’s EV Product Commission. The commission is responsible for identifying training needs and infrastructure improvements and helping Indiana's automotive industry transition. Under our vision, the Drive Electric Indiana program aims to create the largest coordinated and aligned effort for electric vehicle deployment, education, industry, and infrastructure. Greater Indiana is also honored to be part of the team creating the state’s EV Infrastructure Plan along with INDOT and HNTB. |
